To record, study & raise awareness of the archaeology & history of The City of Lincoln
From time to time, the house numbers on Lincoln streets were liable to be re-allocated to fit in new developments. This can cause problems to those researching individual properties if they are relying on a house number. The Exec thought it would be useful if there were a list of such renumberings, by street, giving the date of each and the range of numbers affected. This list will appear here, and will be updated at intervals.
Such a list is dependent on those who spot a renumbering communicating the fact to the webmaster . They should explain the evidence for the change. This will normally be from street directories: either the adjoining streets will come in at a different point in the numbering, or it will be obvious that the list of occupiers is largely repeated but their house numbers have increased by some increment.
